Receptor-protein interactions are integral regulators of receptor biogenesis and function. Affinity purification coupled with mass spectrometry provides an unbiased tool for the identification of these interactions. Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors are ligand-gated ion channels widely expressed in vertebrates and are associated with numerous physiological functions. My research has been focused on identifying proteins interacting with nicotinic receptors using mass spectrometry.
